Helena Singleton is a violinist and first-year middle
school orchestra director in Broken Arrow Public
Schools. She studied Music Education at the
University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduating
Summa Cum Laude. Throughout her career thus
far she has been heavily involved with music and
music education programs. She has participated
in her city’s El Sistema program, Sistema Tulsa, since its inception, transitioning from a student to a teacher in 2019, as well as teaching at another El Sistema program, Harmony Project Tulsa since 2019. Since beginning private lessons in 2016, Helena has participated in Oklahoma’s All-State orchestra, Oklahoma Summer Art Institute at Quartz Mountain, YOLA National Festival, and was a member of the YOLA National Institute, where she traveled to Scotland and London, playing alongside the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Maestro Gustavo Dudamel at the Hollywood Bowl and the Edinburgh International Festival, playing alongside the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, and working with other passionate young musicians.
